End of Life DouLa support

A gentle, steady companion for the threshold between worlds.

When death approaches life becomes tender in new ways. Time takes on a different shape. The heart asks for honesty. The body asks for gentleness.

As an end-of-life doula or death doula in Missoula, Montana, I offer calm companionship, practical guidance, and grounded emotional support for individuals and families navigating this sacred passage. My work is to help you and your loved one(s) orient toward what matters: wishes, values, rituals, and moments of meaningful closure.

This is a space where breath slows, stories matter, and transitions are honored with great care, dignity, and presence.

Common Questions

  • An end-of-life doula provides holistic emotional, spiritual, and practical support for individuals and families during the dying process. I offer comfort and companionship, ritual creation, nervous system support, and guidance before, during, and after death to ease the burden on loved ones so they can be present. My goal is to help you or your loved one achieve a peaceful death.

I do not replace medical care — I complement it with steady, compassionate companionship.

  • No.

I most often work alongside hospice and palliative teams.

Hospice manages medical needs; I support the emotional, relational, and ritual aspects of the end of life. Families often say this combination feels holistic or complete.

  • If you’re feeling unsure, overwhelmed, unprepared, or simply wanting a more intentional experience, a doula can help. Many people reach out when:

    • a hospice referral is made

    • a loved one’s condition is changing

    • family members need guidance or rest

    • someone wants to plan ahead

The complimentary orientation session is the best place to start.

  • When possible, yes!

If a death is expected in the coming hours or days, reach out. I’ll let you know my availability as quickly as humanly possible.

  • Absolutely. Caregivers often need grounding and support just as much as (sometimes even more than) the person who is dying. Sessions are designed for either or both.

  • Yes, depending on your needs and my availability.

Vigil support can include daytime presence, evening hours, or extended bedside companionship during the final days.

  • A home funeral is an approach to after-death care led by the circle of care that happens at home rather than immediately transferring the body to a funeral home.

I provide education, emotional support, planning, and step-by-step guidance so families know what is allowed, possible, and what may be meaningful.

  • Yes. All services are flexible and can be shaped to meet your needs, timeline, and comfort level. We create a plan together. I prefer to provide transparent and upfront pricing so you know what to expect, but we can adapt along the way.

  • I offer in-home support throughout Missoula and nearby areas. This is often in a personal residence, care facility, or hospice setting. Please contact me if your location is outside of Missoula to confirm availability.
